White Chocolate Panna Cotta

White chocolate panna cotta is a great creamy dessert made with cream and white chocolate. The result is a delicious silky treat which is best chilled for a several hours or better overnight.

White Chocolate Panna Cotta

COOKS IN: 15 minutes plus chilling time


  • 400 ml heavy cream
  • 30 g caster sugar
  • 140 g white chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons boiling water
  • 2 teaspoons gelatine powder
  • Dark chocolate or nuts for decoration


  1. Combine gelatine powder with 2 tablespoons of boiling water and whisk until it dissolves. Set aside to cool slightly.

  2. Place the cream and sugar in a medium saucepan and bring to the boil. Add coarsely chopped white chocolate and start whisking continuously until the it has completely melted. Add the gelatine and whisk again for few minutes. Leave to cool on a room temperature for 1 hour during which the mixture will thicken slightly.

  3. Divide mixture evenly among 4 souffle cups or small glass cups and place in the fridge covered with cling film for 3 - 4 hours or overnight. 

  4. To remove panna cotta from souffle cups dip bottom of each cup into bowl of very hot water for a few seconds. Immediately place serving plate upside down over each cup, turn plate over and remove souffle cup. Top each panna cotta with crushed dark chocolate or nuts.
