If you like the heat you’ll adore the Rome weather in summer which is warm and sunny here with temperatures reaching an average high of 30°C in August. You can expect around 10 hours of sunshine daily and rainfall is rare. 

Due to this fact Rome is a popular summer destination, which means it can get busy at this time of year. The queues in front of the Colosseum, the Pantheon and in front of Saint Peter’s Basilica are long and you may experience long waiting times.

During the spring and autumn you can enjoy pleasant temperatures from 16°C in March to 22°C in October. The weather during these periods makes them a perfect time for soaking up Rome’s rich culture and history without the heat and large crowds in front of the sights. In this time you get around 6 to 8 hours of sunshine daily, which will provide the ideal backdrop for your holiday photos.

The weather in Rome during the winter is the coolest period of the year but the climate tends to stay pretty mild. Temperatures only fall to around 13°C during the winter period. In this period you can experience more rainfall then in the rest of the year.
