Roma Termini Station

Roma Termini is the main train station in Rome and it is named after the central area of the city in which it's located. It is opened in 1860 and since then it has grown to Italy's busiest station, with 150 millions passengers travelling each year. 

Termini is situated withing walking distance to many Rome sights. In only 5 minutes you will reach Terme di Diocleziano. Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore with its beautiful mosaics is situated at the top of Via Cavour - only 10 minutes from Termini.

Just a few hundred metres further you will find impressive Piazza della Repubblica with its large fountain and majestic arcades. On this square, visitors will also find the Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri. If you walk all way down Via Cavour you will reach the Colosseum - the most impressive Rome sight.

On the train station you will find numerous shops (footware, clothes, cosmetics, books, glasses etc) which are located on the ground-floor as well as below ground level, self-service restaurants and snack bars, cafes and other services available for passengers (exchange offices, left luggage, information desks).

Termini has 32 platforms serving around 850 trains which runs locally and all over the country each day. From this station you can reach any destination in Italy.

From Rome you can reach Milan or Venice in just under 3 hours, Florence in 1 h 30 minutes and Naples in 1 h 10 minutes. Travellers will find all transport options nearby, including the metro (lines A and B), trams, buses and taxis. 

Leonardo Express is a non-stop service connecting Termini Station with Fiumicino Airport. This train runs throughout the day departing every 30 minutes and the journey takes half an hour. Leonardo Express arrives at one of two dedicated platforms - 23 or 24 and is the fastest way of travelling between Fiumicino Airport and Termini Station.
