Frittelle di Castagne
You will adore these delicious fritters made with chestnut flour and flavoured with fresh orange juice
We are huge fans of chestnut flour and all delicacies made from it. These fritters made from this gluten-free flour are so simple to make. You will have a bunch of fritters to serve to your friends and family.
When prepare the fritters be sure to sift the flour as it usually have lumps. Orange juice and orange zest gives them some freshness. These fritters goes well with ricotta cheese flavoured with some liqueur.
COOKS IN: 20 MINUTES
- 200 g chestnut flour
- 200 ml warm water
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- zest of one orange
- juice of one orange
- pinch of salt
- oil for frying
- Sift the chestnut flour in a bowl and then add baking powder and a pinch of salt.
- Gradually add warm water and whisk everything until you get smooth and even batter. At the end add squeezed orange juice and orange zest.
- Cover the bottom of frying pan with oil. When heated drop large spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil a few at a time. Fry for about half minute and turn on the other side until golden brown.
- Transfer to a plate with an absorbent paper towel to absorb excess oil. Serve while still warm.
